• Question: Why do people throw away food?

      Because they are wasteful, i always finish my plate! food is a luxury, there are many people in the world with no food so we shouldn’t waste it!

      Because supermarkets make a lot more money if we buy more than we need. Next time you are there, see how they encourage you to buy a certain amount: a pack of mushrooms rather than a small handful you may want. And many many offers encouraging you to buy more (2 for 1 etc).

      That and the fact we are busier people. We tend to buy once a week rather than once a day. Its hard to predict what you will eat for the whole next week.

      Well you can probably answer that question yourself just as well as I 🙂 . The way food is distributed around the world is not equal. Some people get more and some less. A lot of people in the UK are lucky enough to be in apart of that group who get more food than they need. So we prepare food, often too much, we can’t eat it all so we throw the access away. A lot of excess food could be used to make compost (as bacteria will eat and process waste food).
