• Question: Who is the greatest scientist ever?

      I would go for someone like Marie Curie. Not only did she find some pretty important stuff out about radioactivity, but being a female scientist was really tough in those days. Explains a bit why many people have a certain image in their head of a ‘typical scientist’ (usually white, male and oldish).

      For me I would say….Oh this is tough. As a biologist Charles Darwin. Just because through simple observation he was able to devise whole concepts on evolution despite living in an era where such free-though and idea’s against religion were ‘frowned upon’.

      I think the greatest scientists are those who might not be a scientist in the traditional science sense, but who inspire the minds of many around the globe and are a great influence and role model. That’s why mine is David Attenborough. David has a degree in natural sciences and a postgraduate degree in social anthropology!
