I am a microbiology/ biochemistry researcher. I look at how one particular protein from a bacteria virus could be used to alter genes. This requires working in a lab pipetting liquids around and using fancy machines. I also have to collaborate and meet with people all over the world to find out what they are going, how we can help them and how they can help us. Technically I am still a student (so I get lots of great discounts) but I get paid.
