Question: is all your work a secret and why

No mine isn’t but some research is. Sometimes researchers from different groups compete to be the first to find something out or discover something new. This is so they can get the most credit from the work they have done or to take out a patent. I prefer it when different group work together rather than compete as I think progress relies on scientists working together and being honest.
