We already do! Plants that grow in the ocean are called Algae. They grow naturally in the sea like the seaweed we find on our beaches, but we also cultivate them for use in food products. It can be a great was of reducing fishing by giving locals other options. In Indonesia we promote Agar farming, this agar can be used in food, perfumes, creams, cosmetics and in scientific applications

If you have ever eaten sushi then you have eaten marine plants!
