Question: how much time and effort would you put in if you could cure cancer?

  If I knew I could, I would spend every waking second. But that’s the gamble of research – you never really know what you will find out. Think is was Einstein who said ‘if you knew what you were going to find out, it wouldn’t be research’. Or something like that. Often the full impact of scientists’ research isn’t known til after they die. I wouldn’t really like that – would be good to know before I pop my clogs.
