The problem is that technology is changing so fast it is hard to know if it is helping or the opposite. Infants love technology – look at how young children can play around on iPads and things. But often they apps they play are very simple and not designed by people who understand how children learn. The best technologies are ones that encourage young children to think of new ideas and to express themselves – for example recording them talking. I am excited by tangible technologies. This is where technology is inside physical objects – like a block for example. This can have a massive potential on the way infants play and learn.
