• Question: when were mobile phones invented?

      Questions like this are tricky because it matters what we mean by mobile phone. For example, would you call a phone on a military mobile train a mobile phone? If so, then about 100 years ago. But it wasnt tile the 1960’s that we created phones that could be used away from vehicles and buildings. And not tile the 1970’s til we had a handheld phone. But they were like bricks and signal was terrible. It got better with the second generation (2g) digital phones in the 1990’s. Now of course we are about to move toward 4g phones.

      So if you think how far we have come in the last 20 years, can you imagine what a phone in 2030 will look like? My money is they will disappear as soon as Google Glasses come in.
