Cave painting. Or the first time someone decided to record the world around them in a way that another could find out. Technology today is complex but it stems back to that idea – recording and revisiting the world around us.

The internet of course! Before that imaging how long doing your homework would take, you would have to go to the library in London to get many books or wait weeks for things to be posted to you!

Hmmm, maybe bread? It’s nutritious, packed with tons of energy and stays edible for ages: a perfect food source. The people who decided however many thousands of years ago (30,000, perhaps?) that grinding up some grain, making a paste with water and cooking it on a fire would be a great way to produce food would probably have been the tech geniuses of their day!

Hmmm I would have also said internet – but that is taken. So what else was a damn good invention. I would say that classic the wheel! Apart from the obvious of sticking them to cars and carts to make things move (which in itself should be awesome enough), they form the cogs in machines, form parts of turbines to generate electricity from wind or water. So yes a vote for the good old fashioned wheel!
