• Question: Sharks are so magestic ever since jaws they have had the killer reputation and yes sometimes they do kill people but for food not because they are people why are people so cruel and make fin soup from them its disgusting, whats your favorite shark, mines a whale shark :)

      Yes you are 100% correct! I wish everyone thought the same, its unfortunate that the media portray sharks as blood thirsty killers when actually they are docile and more scared of us!

      Once i was working in Mexico and there was a shark attack…. however what happened is that a female bull shark was giving birth and got in to difficulties finding herself in the shallows on a crowded beach. Some woman walked right over and tried to take a picture! Now i would bite her too if she tried to take a picture of me giving birth!

      I also love whale sharks!! i saw them in Mexico… actually 50 of them!! they were incredible, so majestic. Then when in was in Indonesia i saw a shop selling whale shark fin… it was so sad!

      My friend made an amazing documentary on sharks, its called Shiver as that’s what a group of sharks is called! it shows you all about shark fining and how they make the soup, it also shows about how we cant blame the poor people who catch the sharks as they are just trying to survive they dont even know what the fin is used for! Its the big Chinese shipping vessels that are to blame and the people who eat it

    The thing is they are both to do with science, so why not just get really good at science and computers and then you can decide later! you can always change your mind!

    But in my opinion its harder to become a games engineer so maybe try that first, you can still have a keep interest in marine biology, learn to dive, learn all the species names and then do marine biology on the side! I have friends who work as doctors and nurses but take a month off every summer to work as marine biologists in Indonesia! My advise is to get some sea life identification guides or join your local whale and dolphin charity, then on weekends you can go help spot animals.

    ORCA do a great whale and dolphin identification course and then you can go help them with surveys, they even go out on the ferry’s to Spain spotting whales, you can get your whole family involved! I’m going on one this summer!! http://www.orcaweb.org.uk/
